Get answers to common questions about Toner.
Toner typically lasts 4–8 weeks depending on hair porosity, shampoo frequency and sun exposure. Using colour-safe shampoo and limited heat styling extends results. We recommend a consultation to set a maintenance schedule tailored to your hair and lifestyle.
Yes—when applied by a professional. Toner is formulated to deposit colour without lifting hair further. Your stylist will assess hair condition and choose a gentle formula or recommend a bond-repair treatment before toning to protect integrity.
Toner primarily adjusts and refines existing tones rather than significantly changing base colour. It neutralises brassiness or adds warmth. For major lifts or colour changes, a separate colouring service may be recommended alongside or instead of toning.
Plan on 45–90 minutes depending on hair length, condition and whether we’re toning all-over or refreshing highlights. Time includes consultation, application, processing and a professional blow-dry and finish for a complete salon result.
Properly formulated toners applied professionally are minimally damaging. We use conditioning and bond-supporting products to protect hair. If hair is compromised, we’ll recommend repairs or gentler options to avoid further drying or damage.
Use sulphate-free, colour-safe shampoo and conditioner, limit washing to preserve tone, and incorporate a purple or blue shampoo if recommended. Protect hair from sun and heat, and book regular refresh appointments to maintain vibrancy.
